Drawing from different forms of storytelling including illustration, character design, and creative writing, this project is intended to become a design for a multigenerational communal housing development. Using the Chinese province of Henan as a base for a science-fiction world set in an alternate history timeline where humans coexist with an extraterrestrial life in a post-government society, the project aims to push the connection between architecture and narrative.

Design
The inhabitants of this house are a multigenerational commune of three families who are craftspeople that run a guild. The design of the house is generated by kitbashing different forms, tectonics, ornaments, and motifs from different indigenous housing precedents. Three housing units sit on top of a workshop built into the ruins of an apartment building housing a woodshop, metalshop, and masonry shop. Two cores, one based on the metalshop chimney and one on a wind tower, help heat and cool the inhabiting spaces.
